Where Will Evil Glenn Be? (A Filthy Lie)

From The Alliance:

Where will Evil Glenn Reynolds be this New Years to celebrate the oncoming of 2006?

I know exactly where Glenn will be. He's flying out late Friday night (to avoid being seen) to Beijing and on Saturday he is going to be looking for restaurants that sell cooked mutts and pure-breds.

There he will be able to have many plates of "Puppy DeJour" and a few "Puppy Power" Shakes to bring in the New Year.

Death Penalty Defense

I posted a while back about how there was a "Hypocrite" fish sold on the Washington State Democrat webpage. The reasoning behind the sticker that the Dems gave was that they figured it was aimed at people who are pro-life, but support the death penalty. Those two subjects are COMPLETELY different. Let's compare the two, starting with the Pro Life people.

1) Pro-Life is a strictly abortion related term, meaning that you are against the forceful removal and termination of a fetus from within the womb, prior to natural birth. Now I myself do believe that there are some instances where it should be allowed. The classical rape, incest, and extreme life endangering circumstances. I however believe that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should abortion be used in these manners:
1) Partial Birth
2) Late in pregnancy
3) As a form of birth control, or when you just "Don't want a kid."

I also believe that the government should not pay for abortions. I don't care if a state allows them (which I feel it should be a state issue, not national), I just don't want my tax dollars to pay for it.

The only thing that a fetus has done is to have been conceived. MOST of the time, it is from concentual sex where the two people decided to risk it and go without some form birth control (or least use an unreliable one, ie. the joke "What do you call people who use the rhythm method? Parents.") My philosophy has always been that you are responsible for your actions. Most Planned Parenthood and other places like that have FREE condoms and birth control pills available, there is NO EXCUSE. Or if you can't get to those places, here's the best idea, DON'T HAVE SEX. And if you willingly toss aside the opportunity to prevent pregnancy, then I feel like you should accept what has arrived, or will arrive for that matter.

OK, now the death penalty:
As I said above, all a fetus has ever done was to be conceived. When you are put to death you have physically (and most often brutally) killed one or more people before you were caught. You took some one else's life into your own hands, and ended it. And for reference even in the case of Tookie Williams as I said, I would not stop it. As said above, You should face the consequences of your actions.

That is why abortion and the death penalty are TOTALLY different concepts. And if the liberals out there still can't see the gap, then let me put it this way. If I'm a hypocrite for allowing a fetus to be born, and grow up into an adult, but ending the life of a criminal who murdered people, then what about all the pro-choice/anti-death penalty liberals? Doesn't that make YOU a hypocrite for allowing a murderer to live, but killing a fetus, just because it's mom didn't use common sense?

What A Fall

Wow, I fell from the rank of Large Mammal in the TLB Ecosystem, back down to Marauding Marsupial. They must have done some MAJOR reviewing of links because I dropped from over 200 links to my site, down to 46, and a ranking of 1755 down from I believe under 1000. Everyone took a hit, even the big ones like Malkin and Evil Glenn. Speaking of which, look for a GOP and College exclusive of where Evil Glenn will be spending his New Year's Eve.

And in other news, I support the Fiscal Watch Team Offset Package. The Truth Laid Bear has all the details of getting rid of pork here.

OK, I Had To Do It

How does the elite left keep droning about how "Bush lied about Iraq" and all of that, but "forget" to mention the fact that an estimated 300,000 people were murdered and buried in mass graves during his 23 year reign of terror in Iraq? There may have been a little over 2,000 US deaths in Iraq in the 2 1/2 years we've been there, but Saddam was killing just over 13,000 of his own people PER YEAR. OK, so the info was wrong. Get over it and realize that this man was a monster, and needed to be removed.

Leftists claim to be for "Civil Rights," which, by that site, explains why they support a man who slaughters his own people just for having opposing views. I wonder if the ACLU were around in the 1930's and 40's if they would have supported Joseph Stalin. He killed 43,000,000 people in 24 years. He might as well be their hero.

*note* When reading the article about Civil Rights Corruption, do not confuse modern liberalism (the belief that government intervention will be good) and classic liberalism (minimalist government, a.k.a. libertarianism)

Dual Post

As the title says, this is a dual post, with the winnerfor the "What Doa Ya Say" Caption Contest Winners, then a little blurb about the Final Whooping...I mean match in the HWC league.

So here's the top 5 in the contest:
5) "I'm a Jack-Ass!" - GOP and College
4) "Stuck On Stooopid" The Man
3) "I am a complete moron" - Viking Spirit
2)

Delta Mike Charlie

And the winner:
"You can't spell funny without F.U.N.Y." - Wyatt Earp

And now that Wyatt finished first in the caption contest, I get to mock him for the whooping the Rednecks put on the Gunfighters. The final score was 99-73, which was about the margin that I predicted. I could dote about how Wyatt hasn't been beat like that since the X-men got stomped 5-1 (which he missed), or my 114-60 thrashing back in week 11, but I can't do that. He played good playes, just his players didn't play as good as mine did. I definitely had a lucky day, but it was when I needed it.

Also to wrap up Bentley's Game, he won 66-59 to take 3rd place over the Giants.

So as a final token to this year's HWC, here are the final rankings, with win-loss (including playoffs), and points.
1) Pulaski Rednecks (11-4, 1251 pts)
2) The Gunfighters(10-5, 1118 pts)
3) Bentley Fonzworth (7-5-2, 1141 pts)
4) T(v)RWC Giants (9-7, 994 pts)
5) The Muse (7-7-1, 841 pts)
6) RFTR (8-7, 893 pts)
*did not make playoffs*
7) The Blue Balls (5-8, 724 pts)
8) Shortbus All-Stars (5-8, 579 pts)
9) webcats (4-8-1, 684 pts)
10) bRight & Early (2-11, 622 pts)

I'm debating taking a Blogger Vacation for this week, but if big news breaks, I'll cover it.

HWC Final Bout Preview

Sorry to disappoint, but it looks like the final match in the Hot Wing Conspiracy league between Gunfighters (9-4, Coach: Wyatt Earp of SYLG) and The Pulaski Rednecks (9-4, Coach: GOP and College) won't be much of a battle. The stats show a Vegas Line update with Rednecks a 18 point favorite. A farther look into the game shows that Rednecks have some incredible matchups coming this week. Every Redneck is playing to the oppositions weakness. Denver vs. Oakland, St. Louis vs San Fran, Miami vs the Titans, and many others. Over on the Gunfighters side, the best matchups are Tomlinson, which is ok, and then his kicker. The rest are great team matchups, but it's like a wide out vs a weak run defense, or a good quarterback vs a good secondary.

I'm sorry, but I've got to go with Vegas and the history of these two teams, and say I'll be 3-0 vs. Wyatt, and league Champ. Sorry man.
Rednecks -85
Gunfighters - 65

There is a lesser known game between T(v)RWC Giants (8-5) and Bentley Fonzworth (7-4-2). Don't be deceived by Bentley's record, he was the top scoring team in the league with 955 points in 13 games, and with two 100 point games. He was 40 points ahead of me, at 2nd highest scoring.

I think Bentley will kick some tail and win it out, 75-60, because after a 1 point loss, you want to kick someone's rear REAL bad.

Heh, Gotta Love Best Of The Web

I came upon a bit in today's Best of the Web from the Opinion Journal. They were talking about how the Democrats could be seen as Wile E. Coyote holding up a sign that said GENIUS, pointing to himself. Then to further their point, they quoted someone with an over-bloated ego that decided to post this on Democratic Underground.
"#1 - I would dare to assume that most of us here are in the upper 1%-20% of the population intelligence-wise. We must come to the realization that the majority of the population is in the lower 80% to 99% percent of the bell-curve. WE are not the norm. The Republicans understand that the average American is not very bright. They cater and pander to the masses. The Democratic Party tries to appeal to the population about "issues" that these people just don't understand."
All I have to say to that is this: Ummm, no.

I posted about this topic in February, and shortly afterwards my ultra-liberal Government teacher tried to say this same thing, but here's what I have to say to you...again.

Sorry to burst your overly self-blown bubble, but conservatives with higher degrees outweigh liberals 2-1 (41% to 20% with a masters or doctrine, and 44% to 21% with a Bachelor's degree). And of the conservatives, 71% vote Republican, and a measly 6% vote Democrat. As for the liberals, only 30% of liberals vote for Democrats, and 15% of Democratic voters are Conservative. And with conservatives over liberals in every level of degrees, that tells me that a lot of smart people are over at GOP headquarters.

It's Official

The greedy little rats at the TWU went on strike. Head over to their blog site and leave a comment about how you feel. You know what the sad thing is? There are actually people who support this movement.

What a bunch of lazy schmucks

OK, Time For Some Fun, HWC Style

*Boxing ring bell ringing*
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...Are you ready? I repeat...Are you rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrready? This is the MAIN EVENT! LLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RRRRRRRRUUUUMMBLE!

It's finals time in the Hot Wing Conspiracy League, and yours truly is battling the 2nd place Gunfighters for the HWC '05 crown. After finishing an abysmal 12th of 14 last year, I could possibly win the title this season. And although my profile doesn't show it, in about 2002 or 2001 I was a champion in a fantasy football league...where I promptly got my rear handed to me the next season in a very cut-throat Champions League. Either way, I will either have a gold or silver trophy in my case this year.

As usual, Wednesday I will have a VERY in depth analysis of the game to come since it's one of only 2 games in the league this week.

Vegas lines for the Title match?

What a Shocker!

Actually it kind of is. UCLA has recently released a truly unbiased report about the media's bias, and the results are actually shocking. It shows that although the media is about consistent with Congress, it shows that the media IS LIBERAL BIASED. The middle line is right about center at 50.1, with 100 being most liberal and 0 being most conservative.

Highest scoring liberal media:
1) News Section of Wall Street Journal at 85
2) CBS "Evening News"
3) New York Times
4) LA Times
2, 3, and 4 were in the mid to high 70's

Right of Center:
1) Washington Times
2)Special Report With Brit Hume
...That's it. That's the only two they ranked as being politically right. And even then Brit Hume was the 4th closest to center

TWU: STRIKE! STRIKE!...NYC: SUE TWU!

That's what NYC mayor Mike Bloomberg is wanting to do if the TWU goes on strike at 12:01 AM tonight. GOP and the City has a great breakdown of the numbers for this strike.

400,000,000 - daily cost to the city during the strike 7,000,000 - daily riders on New York's subways and busses 22,000,000 - amount the city is suing the TWU (per day) if a strike happens 62,000 - average salary of a subway and bus operator 25,100 - starting salary for a NYPD police officer 25,000 - daily fine for a striking worker 1980 - Last transit strike, which lasted for 11 days

$62,000 per year to drive a subway train? What a joke! Here's a list of people who WISH they made that much per year (averages unless otherwise noted):

Assembly line workers : Average $25,000 per year
Newly Graduated engineer: $50,000
Dental Technician: $30,000
IRS worker: $30,000-55,000

Physical Therapist: $58,000
ALL Material Moving Occupations: $16,000-40,000
X-Ray Technician: highest 10% - $52,000
Accountant: $50,000
Construction worker: $28,000
Clinical Lab Technician: $40,000
Architects: $55,000

You see there are some VERY high end jobs that are making quite a good bit less than a subway or bus driver in NYC. That is already the job of a lifetime. You don't do ANYTHING, and you make more than some people who spent 5 or even 6 years in college. On top of that you don't pay for your medical benefits, and you can retire at 55, after working for only 25 years.

My message to the TWU:

SIT DOWN, AND SHUT UP!

Rash of Anti-Commercialization Protests

As my brother reported last week about a family who decided to put a giant inflatable Santa holding a bloody, severed head outside their $3 million home, there have been many protests of late about the commercialization of Christmas. This time 40 drunken Santas stormed the streets of Auckland New Zealand, stole from stores, and abused security guards.

Well, at least they weren't covered in blood.

I will say I have to agree with the cause, but a better action could have been used. With all the stores vanquishing the word Christmas from everything, it's not too hard to see where these people are coming from.

Can You Smell Gun Smoke?

Well, if this doesn't look like a smoking gun than I don't know what would. All the democrats claim to be Pro-Religion (and most "practice" Christianity), but with things like removing Christmas Trees, and other Christian symbols while leaving Menorahs, seems to portray a different story.
Now, Democrats slipped even farther by selling a Christian Fish magnet with a cross for an eye, flames and the word "HYPOCRITE" inside the fish on the Washington State Democrats website (screenshot seen here). And the excuse for the selling of this?

Paul Berendt, the state Democratic chairman, said he was surprised to find the item advertised on the Web site. He told The Seattle Times the magnet was not properly vetted and was removed from the party's site after less than 48 hours.
He apologized for offending anyone, and called the item embarrassing. "We didn't sell any of them, and we're not going to," Berendt said.

The magnet is copyrighted by a pot-smoking girl at Reefer Magnets and comes on a card with very demeaning words towards Christians. She advocates smoking more hemp to become more peaceful (even though smoking hemp doesn't do anything because it has almost no THC), and claims that hemp seed oil can be used like crude oil (at a rate of 50lb of flowers, not just the whole plant, per OUNCE of oil). This item is also sold on a site called evolveFISH which demeans Christians in almost everything they sell.

And an apology from the WA Democrat's site? Of course not. It's like it never happened.

As for more anti-Christian liberalism around the Christmas holidays, read a VERY good article here

Pelosi's An Idiot

House minority leader Nancy Pelosi is mentally challenged or something along those lines. She and a few other democrats have single handedly torn apart the Democratic party, and now has succeeded in doing so even more. This article in the Washington Post says that now, instead of coming up with a unified exit strategy for Iraq, she wants Democrats to refrain from a unified exit strategy. So now they are going to continue to complain about how the war is going, but when asked what they would do about it the best you can get is a shoulder shrug.

I get the feeling that Nancy climbed up the stupid tree, all the way too the top, then nose dived strait down to the ground. "Pelosi, one of the most liberal Democrats in the House, opposed the war and, as the senior Democrat on the intelligence committee before the invasion, argued that Saddam Hussein posed no imminent threat to the United States."

No imminent threat to the US? Maybe, but to his own country and the surrounding nations. I just have to point to the Gulf War, and the killing of thousands of Kurds for that one.

What A Fuss

And people thinking that the Moveon.org photoshopping ordeal was no big deal, now think that this is HUGE! Heaven forbid if the N.S.A. bypasses a court ordered warrant to see if your phone calls to a cave in Pakistan are worthy of suspicion of terrorism. There were a total of 500 people in the entire US who were checked. The tap was done on e-mails, phone calls and other electronic sent messages to and from places outside the Unites States. One such looking-in resulted in a thwarting of attempts to destroy bridges in NYC. The agency did not monitor phone calls that the people made, say to grandma Jones in Long Island, or anything that was sent/called inside the states.

I wonder, if someone runs onto a plane, yells, "I HAVE A BOMB," and then runs off and gets injured by air marshals, the MSM will claim that it was a tragedy that could have been avoided. Oh, wait, they have.

Iraqi Turnout Beats U.S.

Wow, an extimated 70% of Iraq's population voted in the elections. That whallops our 60% that voted in 2004, which was the highest in almost 40 years.

Iraq is a quagmire? Please.

I got this in an e-mail today from my grandparents.

The "W" in Christmas

Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience.
I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endlessbaking, decorating, and even overspending.
Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the preciousfamily moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas.
My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting seasonfor a six year old.
For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school's "Winter Pageant."
I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of theproduction. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher.
She assured me there'd be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation.
All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then.
Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise.
So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, founda spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw severalother parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the studentswere led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, satcross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to performtheir song.
Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holidayas "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercialentertainment songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer.
So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly takenaback by its bold title.
Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads.
Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, tospell out the title of the song.
As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up theletter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding uphis portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love."
The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totallyunaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".
The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one'smistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W".
Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continueduntil the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.
A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen.
In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebratedthe holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purposefor our festivities. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:

"C H R I S T W A S L O V E"

Don't let the excitement of gifts, and ACLU-like crying make you forget the real reason why Christmas is here.

Planned Parenthood And Rapists

I got an e-mail warning from GOP Bloggers today describing how an 11 year old girl came to Planned Parenthood (In CA), and told the people there how her 17 year old boyfriend had raped her, but she didn't want her parents to know. So instead of reporting the rape to the authorities, what did they do? NOTHING! That's right, they just sat there, then had the nerve to BRAG about it on their webpage. Now granted, they did help the troubled girl through the rough times afterwards, but the 17 year old boy who raped her is still out on the streets, instead of in jail for the crime he committed.

There's a difference between an abortion clinic ridding a 17 year old girl of a pregnancy, without the parents knowing, because her and her boyfriend concentually fooled around without protection, and not telling authorities about an 11 year old girl who was raped by a boy who was less than a year away from being a full adult, just because she doesn't want her parents to know.

Of course liberals care about you, as long as you're not a parent, don't believe in Christ (all other religions are ok), hate Bush, believe everything they tell you, and have never associated with conservatives/Republicans.

In other news I picked up, Scrappleface has a great quote from Bush today, to shut the lefties up.
“I admit,” said Mr. Bush, “that I’m almost completely isolated from public opinion pollsters and journalists who start with answers and craft questions to elicit them. I’m virtually cut off from believing the non-stop barrage of negative news about an emerging democratic nation that will have three legitimate elections this year after decades of dictatorship. I’m aloof from the world in which bitter critics with no vision are treated as diplomats and sages.”
Mr. Bush added, “When you see a shimmering, transparent bubble wall, you gotta ask yourself: which side of it am I on?” Scrappleface

Let's See The MSM Report This

Here's something you won't see on the News:
Iraqi insurgents urge Sunnis to vote, warn Zarqawi

FALLUJA/RAMADI Iraq (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein loyalists who violently opposed January elections have made an about-face as Thursday's polls near, urging fellow Sunni Arabs to vote and warning al Qaeda militants not to attack.

In a move unthinkable in the bloody run-up to the last election, guerrillas in the western insurgent heartland of Anbar province say they are even prepared to protect voting stations from fighters loyal to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, leader of al Qaeda in Iraq.

There is now a growing longing for control and order in Iraq. I guess the Sunni's learned that if you want political power in a democracy, you actually have to vote. This came after Sunni's were horribly beaten in the first elections in January, when they boycotted the voting, and threatened to kill anyone who voted. This time the story is just the opposite.

How Bout Them Apples Kanye

Remember the fuss about how Katrina was a targeted plan to kill black people. Well, Michelle Malkin has discovered the real numbers behind Katrina.

From Michelle Malkin:

"The surprisingly low death rate for black Katrina victims comes despite the fact that New Orleans itself was more than two-thirds black [67 percent] when the storm hit. White residents made up less than a third [28 percent] of the city's population, according to U.S. Census bureau numbers." -Newsmax

As you can see, the statistics are almost even. And as Newsmax points out, you have to realize that NO is 67% African American. So if this actually was aimed at blacks, then the numbers would be more along the lines of 80% or more black deaths. And for the whites, there were actually more deaths than if it had been an equal death rate among races. You would expect to see 67% black deaths, 28% white, and so on, but white deaths are actually 13% higher than they should be, while African American deaths are 19% below what they would be in a statistically even death rate.

Kind of reminds me about how people complain that there are so many African American arrests in places like Compton, and South Central LA, claiming it's racially motivated, even though the population is 80-90% black.

And The Winner Is

5) "Iran will never be a threat! Just because they've sworn to obliterate us and are developing nuclear weapons doesn't mean we need to do a thing about it! That's the kind of talk you'd expect from this President and his neo-con, warmongering"...KABOOOOM! - K T Cat

4) You all are sadly mistaken. A halo? Please. That's the mushroom cloud from all of his bulls#$% combusting. Cythen

3) "I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down,down,down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns,burns,burns
the ring of fire
the ring of fire." J. Fielek

2) It was then that the MSM realized that their treatment of Dean as the second coming of Christ had gone too far... Kevin

*AND THE WINNER*
1) Nice job adding the halo, but they missed a little of the baby blood on his chin. Harvey

Tookie Getting Injection

Unless a federal court appeals the order, "Tookie" Williams will die by lethal injection. I have mentioned once this guy, who was being decried as a changed man and all these other things, but something that I didn’t know about until today is the fact that this man co-founded a group you may have heard of, The Crips. That’s right. Tookie was one of the founding fathers of the LA gang responsible for many years of bloodshed between he Crips and the Bloods.

In my opinion if he were saved from death, and then paroled, I feel he would have stray dog syndrome; “Once a stray dog, always a stray dog.” He will go right back to the streets and start the same vicious cycle that put him in prison in the first place. He is a cold-blooded killer, and helped to cause thousands more deaths in the projects of LA, and eventually spread throughout the nation. However, the 9th Circuit Court is now being asked to handle the issue, and as liberal as he are, he may get his wish.

May God have mercy on your soul, Tookie.

Censors Be Ready

Kanye West is nominated for 8 Grammy's this year mostly for his song, "Gold Digger," and his album, "Late Registration." I would have the censors/cameramen ready to cut out any podium rants that he might give if he wins an award. If you were not living under a rock after Katrina hit, then you know that Kanye said quote, "George Bush does not care about black people," implying that the response of FEMA was a politically driven attempt to kill off African Americans.

OH THE TRAGEDY!

That's what liberals everywhere are going to be screaming when they get wind of this story. Rigoberto Alpizar reportedly got on the plane, and shortly afterwards said threatening words, then claimed he had a bomb, and ran flailing and screaming down the aisle, and off the plane. After he got into the jetway where he then started to reach into his bag for something. At that point an Air Marshall thought the situation had progressed to an immediate danger and shot the man. Police searched bags on the plane and found nothing. The man's wife later claimed that he had Manic Depression and had not taken his meds.

Some quotes from passengers were as follows;
Lucy Argote, 15, of Codazi, Colombia: ""Officers told him to stop and he said no. He was running like a crazy man."

Olga Echeverria, of Guatemala: "The man sitting next to me got on the floor. I threw myself on the floor to pray for God's mercy on us."

Air marshals on the flight identified themselves and confronted him, but he did not follow their instructions and tried to evade them, officials said. "His actions caused them to fire shots and in fact he is deceased," Bauer told reporters. Yahoo! News Story

I will say that it was kind of shady to put this at the end of the story. I know the NY Times will quote this.
"Officials said Alpizar, who apparently was traveling with his wife, was shot as he walked off the plane."

Even though the reports tell that he was running through and out the plane.

"MIAMI - Shortly after boarding an Orlando-bound plane, passengers say, they saw a man bolt from his seat and run down the aisle, with his screaming wife and man in a Hawaiian shirt behind. ..
Before he ran off the plane he "uttered threatening words that included a sentence to the effect that he had a bomb," said James E. Bauer, agent in charge of the Federal Air Marshal Service field office in Miami."

Busy week for GOP and College

I went to bed last Tuesday night after posting a fresh blog about Moveon.org and had 4,949 hits. I woke up the next morning and already had broken through 5,000 Then I went to work, and checked my mail a little later and my brother informed me that he and I had been linked on Michelle Malkin, Hugh Hewitt, and many other highly trafficked sites. Then I hit 6,000, then 7,000, and finally after over 3,000 hits in 1 day, I broke 8,000. Then I posted about Amazon, which was picked up by Pyjama Media, IMAO, and to my dismay, not really anyone else, but it still got attention. That breached the 9,000 and 10,000 mark, and now today I've broken past 11,000. In 8 days GOP and College has had over 6,000 hits.

Thank you, and I hope you continue to enjoy my blog.

So Much For Safety

RFTR has an interesting post about just how concerned the MTA is for your safety. I swear some people (i.e. the conductor) are just ignorant. And, there is a picture of the suspicious bag on his site, or just a cheap plug for Price Right.

Hottest, Driest, Stormiest Year?

I get what they mean, but it just seems a bit conflicting. But right now it's 26 degrees outside, and I'm not exactly thinking it's a warmer year than usual. It just seemed like the usual muggy as all crap summer that Tennessee and the rest of the southeast is used to.

And to all the enviro-hippies that think Bush is a nature killing evil man, Kyoto would have the US decrease greenhouse gases by 5% by 2012, Bush wants our emissions to drop 18% by 2012. Who's looking out for the environment now?

Evil Glenn Crashes Frank J's Wedding!

I cannot believe it! The nerve of that Evil Glenn. He had the audasity to go and blend the puppy that I was going to give to Frank J. Well, crap. I guess the next best thing is to try to boost him by link-whoring. So here is my back-up gift, 10 valuable links from GOP and College...coming to a cash value of $0.0000000000000001 (if that)...but it's the thought that counts

Intriguing

I was sent this photo from the writer of bRight & Early this afternoon. The picture shows protesters with "masks" on and a giant megaphone. Although there is no doubt that there are people there or the megaphone, the masks however do raise an eye of suspicion. They are oddly cut out at the eyes, and allow no place for the protester to really look out. The only tell that there is a person behind them is the very small hint of an eye and an eyebrow in the left eye (mine/yours) of "Cheney."

Although I'm not certain about this with my photoshop catching eyes, I think I am going to go with this as a legit picture. The left side of "Chaney's" face appears to still have pools of undried Elmers glue under it, causing ridges in the "mask."

I'm going to look into this a bit later. As of now I'm putting the photoshop level at green (similar to the terror alert system (blue being clean, then green, yellow, orange, and red for BUSTED)

One Last Hit

As you all may know, the Tennessee Vols came into this season pre-ranked #3 in the nation. They quickly dropped that and ended up 5-6, and even lost to VANDERBILT, a team that they hadn't lost to in 22 years. Well, the Tennessean decided to take one last look at the team that never really was. Here's a few snippets from the article...

Most memorable play
Gerald Riggs Jr.'s bulling his way into the end zone on third-and-goal from the 1 to win it in overtime against LSU.
Most forgettable play
Cory Anderson's fumble at the 3 against Alabama that went squirting through the end zone for a touchback.
Most forgettable play II
Arian Foster's fumble against South Carolina, just as he was about to cross the goal line for a touchdown.
Worst tackle
Everybody who whiffed on Georgia's Thomas Flowers on his way to a 54-yard punt return for a touchdown to break the game open.
Most important offensive play
Are you kidding?
Worst comment
All but three of the Vols' players following the Vanderbilt loss. Everybody else ducked out and refused to face the media.
Cover your eyes
It's probably what every Tennessee fan wanted to do following Erik Ainge's hook shot out of the end zone against LSU.
Cover your eyes II
It's definitely what every Tennessee fan wanted to do at the end of the Vanderbilt game. Commodores 28, Vols 24.
Red hot
Phillip Fulmer's seat if the Vols head into November next season with four or five losses.

The Vols sucked this year. It was so bad, that when I went up to UT to visit my best friend, and watch the UT Vandy game, I was so down trodden that I actually had to LEAVE KNOXVILLE the night of the game, because I was so upset. I just couldn't stand to be there.

One good note, at least we didn't lose to Kentucky.

GOP and College in the PAPERS

The Weekly Standard ran an article about this blog uncovering the photoshopping done by Moveon.org in the Not A Parody section entitled "Moveon's Latest Antiwar Ad." The article is for subscribers to the newspaper only, so if you have a subscription, please read it. As for myself, I do not have a subscription, but a Barnes & Noble carries the paper, so I can get one from there.

Tennessee = Jersey?

There's a part of a joke about "You know you're from Jersey if..." that includes, "You know what a "jug handle" is", referring to the turn around that makes two right turns into one left turn, theoretically to reduce traffic congestion. They are a unique feature exclusive to the Garden State...Until now. Franklin, TN has been tinkering with the idea of extending one of its heavily trafficked roads to loop around the entire city, but had never actually passed it. well, they finally came up with a good solution. And sitting there, at the corner of Mack Hatcher Parkway and Carter's Creek Pike, is a jug handle!

Now this project is headed by TDOT, so more than likely it will not be done for another 5-8 years, even though it is a mere 6 miles of untravled divided highway. If I remember the fact that it will be there I'll be sure in 5 years to throw on my wife-beater, bic my head, and talk with a thick accent as I drive around the loop.

Beware Tennessee, the Guidos may be coming! Or as we call them down here, Gweeders.

*Update* My brother asked if Tennessee wanted The Jets, I told him no, We've got enough crappy football in the Titans.

New Milestone for Iraq

The newly re-established Iraqi Air Force took it's first solo mission today in a C-130 from Ali Air Base to New Al Muthana on Monday.

“The flight marked a major milestone achievement by showing Iraq’s capability of providing its own military transport,” - Air Force Capt. Jerry Ruiz

There Is Hope...

I've recently found a person who turned away from liberalism and possibly will leave the Democratic party because they have decided that mainstream liberals ARE insane. I found out about this blog from a comment on IMAO. They go into a long discussion here about how liberals are so blinded by their own hate for Bush that they overlook simple, obvious truths.

Please read the blog, it's a worthwhile one.

There is a cure for liberalism, it's called opening your eyes, and seeing what's right in front of you.
