Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles Vs Auburn Tigers

Recently, the NCAA has allowed 1-A schools to dip into the 1-AA pool for an easy win. Auburn's choice for the game is Tennessee Tech. The game will be November 3rd, and is Auburn's Home Coming Game.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle football team will play at Auburn University on Saturday, Nov. 3, facing the highly ranked Tigers in Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game was announced this week by officials at both schools.

While the Golden Eagles have faced 19 Bowl Subdivision teams (formerly I-A) in the past 22 years, the game at Auburn will be the first for Tech against an opponent from the Southeastern Conference in 56 years.

To accommodate Tech's scheduling of the game against Auburn, Eastern Illinois University officials agreed to move the Ohio Valley Conference game between the Golden Eagles and Panthers. That contest, originally slated for Nov. 3, has been moved to Thursday night, Aug. 31, in Charleston as the season-opener for both schools.

"Our kids are really looking forward to this," said first-year Golden Eagle coach Watson Brown. "We want to take them someplace nice once a year. It's a 'money' game, so it covers two areas for us. Our kids get a major opponent to look forward to and it helps us financially."
Will it be a slaughtering? Oh yeah. Tech is going to go down like a Thai whore in front of a $100 bill, but what it will also do is give us possible TV time, as well as much needed funding for the advancement of the program. With new coach Watson Brown, I am looking forward to an upswing of performance from Tech.
