Think Progress Complains About Inconvenience

The authors of Think Progress have a habit of either lying by omission, or they allow their liberal philosophy to place blinders on their common sense.

Just look at this article about how schools didn't want to accept the movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," due to the split between scientists, but have videos from oil companies where the first line is,"You’re absolutely not going to believe this, but almost everything I have that’s really cool comes from oil!"

TP then kicks in their blinders/lies by omission, and "forget" that plastic's main ingrediant is petroleum, also known as crude oil. The video is about a girl who wakes up one day to find that everything she owns that was made with oil no longer functions, or simply isn't there. She goes to school all messy and in burlap sacks. Her science teacher then informs her about the less noticealbe things that oil is a part of, such as nylon and plyester clothing, plastics, make-up, cell phones, cars, etc.

I posted this comment:
“You’re absolutely not going to believe this, but almost everything I have that’s really cool comes from oil!”
Could that be because anything with Plastic is made from oil. Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-Boxes, Computers, Cars, Airplanes, Appliances, Televisions…do I need to go on?
The reason Plastic is so widely used is because it’s light, inexpensive to make, and it doesn’t conduct electricity. Have you ever thought how miserable of an idea a steel television would be? Not to mention the fact that you can’t touch it if it’s plugged in since it would be a giant electircal conductor.
Let's see what reaction it gets.
