"Falling Man" Likely Identified

During the day of, and for a short time after the attacks on The World Trade Towers, pictures roamed free of people jumping to their demise from the heights of the top floors. Pictures since then have been widely unpublished due mostly for the fact that it is showing a person about to die. One picture in general has been particularly infamous.

"The Falling Man" has been a mystery for the past 4 1/2 years, and since then, one reporter, Tom Junod, has made it their sole purpose to find his identity. Well, he may have found the most important piece of evidence yet. In his Feature, "The Falling Man," he closes with this man, Jonathan Briley.

Well, The Mirror has uncovered a new photo that may just prove that he is the one.

As a side note, one part in particular of Junod's story hits me as very moving:
"But when Timothy identified his brother's body, none of his clothes were recognizable except the black shoes. And when Jonathan went to work on the morning of September 11, 2001, he'd left early and kissed his wife goodbye while she was still sleeping. She never saw the clothes he was wearing. After she learned that he was dead, she packed his clothes away and never inventoried what specific articles of clothing might be missing."

I live by the philosophy that if you are leaving, you should always at least say goodbye the people you care about, and the ones you love you should let that be known as well. The most horrible feeling in the world is having someone close to you pass away and not having the chance to say goodbye. It gives people comfort when they can think back and say, "The last words he/she said to me was that he/she loves me."

Always tell the ones you love how you feel, and be sure to look at his memorial webpage and the Scholarship Fund
