Sorry it took me so long folks, I've had a busy week, and I was unable to get Mr. Pigg to do the recap this week, so as a default, the recap fell back here to GOP and College. Not only that, but I went to put in the images of the matchups and the standings and it wiped 2/3 of the post out. Yuck, So if the recaps seem a bit light. I just don;t feel like retyping them. As a reminder of how things are scored, I'll shoot you over to The Man
really quick to see the break down.
Now that you've been informed, let's get into gear!
Hot Wing Chump-ions - 50
Tax Dodgers - 50
Called this one in the preview. I went into Monday night 4 points down, and hoping that Ahman Green would do poorly and that Greg Jennings would do well. I sort of got my wish. Green was sidelined and Jennings got 86 yards, but no score. I tied the game at the last second, and it was good. I'm no longer completely un-defeating.
MVP: Jeff Wilkins - 1 FG from less than 2 yards, and 3 from 40-49 and another 3 PATs gave him 18 points.I Hate Hillary - 96
Robots Eat Babies - 65
IHH should have gotten a blow-out alert, but there was another game with an even greater MOV.
MVP: Marc Bulger - over 300 yards, 3 TD's and a 2 pointer.
Goat: Cinci's Defense - The best offense is a good defense, and no wonder the Bengals lost. 38 points allowed and just a sack. Yuck.
Worst Dual Performance:San Jose Arrowheads - 24
RFTR - 22
Talk about getting lucky. San Jose would have lost to any other team, dropping them back to the #3 spot, but for now it's the #2 slot by 2 points. So much for San Jose's run-away season.
MVP: Marques Colston - 132 yards and a score. Solid Wide-out performance
Goat: RFTR - Laissez Faire doesn't work any more.
Rose Hill Reddogs - 27webcats - 53
Reddogs finally faced another team that scored more than they did. They are still the lowest scoring team in the league though.
MVP: Santana Moss - 138 yards and 3 TD's. Excellent
Goat: Kurt Warner - 128 yards, 3 sacks, and a pick just cost him his job.The Columbia CRUNCH - 75
Mr Wolf Cleaning Svc - 53
Speed meant nothing as the Crunch roll on to as the 3rd team that is 4-0 through the first 4 weeks.
MVP: Larry Johnson - 101 yards on the ground and 2 scores with another 41 in the air. Nice.
Goat: Dante Stallworth - Only 26 yards before pulling his hammy...again.
fmragtop's spewers - 26bRight & Early - 46
The one week fm would have liked to face the #1. Just an all around rough week for fm. Losing the HWC baseball on the last day, now this. No love man.
MVP: Atlanta's Defense - only gave up 4 points, got 4 sacks, 2 picks, 2 fumbles and a TD.
Goat: Matt Hasselback - Under 200 yards, 2 picks and 5 sacks for -11 points.Best Nail-Biter Game:Gridiron Wookies - 57
Hector Vex O-Trons - 56
It came down to Hector needing Donald Driver to just score once to give the Wookies their second loss of the season. Alas, driver only raked in 50 yards, as Brett Favre found Philly defensmen more than he found open Wideo-outs in the endzone.MVP:
Mark Brunell - 329 yards and 3 scores. Superb.Goat:
Jason Elam - He should have been on the bench. Wookies could have gained another 11 points and sealed teh game easy. The Ball Sackers - 76
Gumbo - 31
At 45 points, this was just shy of setting the record of the largest MOV. The current record is 62 points, set by Wyatt last season versus bRight & Early in week 9. After this week, The gunslinger shows why he belongs on top of the football ranks with a dominating performance.MVP:
Donovan McNabb - 335 yards of total offense with 2 passing TD's and 2 rushing TD's for 21 points. It would have been more, but 4 sacks limited him.Goat:
Warrick Dunn - It's bad when your QB has double the rushing yards as you.
This week's matchups are as shown. Week 5 preview will be up tomorrow. Again, sorry for the delay!
